Fellowship.
I am a Detroit-based harpist, singer-songwriter, and filmmaking femme queen who fuses R&B/soul, jazz, experimental, and electronic elements. Drawing inspiration from my Motown roots, my style makes the harp a force to be reckoned with outside an orchestra pit. Immersed in music, art, and film realms, I am also the creator, co-writer, and director of an upcoming fictional web series, Femme Queen Chronicles, a story of 4 black trans women in Detroit. Initially exploring film through scoring local shorts, (Treasure: From Tragedy to Trans Justice Mapping a Detroit Story, 2015), I use film and sound to explore ideas around identity, vulnerability, language, and existence.
